Electrical Box Landscapes

Starting in July of 2019, the Medford Arts Council and Medford artist Sophy Tuttle turned ten electrical boxes in Medford Square into colorful mini-murals. This public art project features flora and fauna of the Mystic River watershed and includes evocative haiku on natural themes composed by Medford poet Gary Roberts. The plants and animals were selected with the help of an online public survey to identify popular choices found in our environment.

A nice article published by the WBUR ARTery online magazine tells more about how the project came to life. Click here to read the article.

Stay tuned for more images as this project is completed. Feel free to email sophy@sophytuttle.com with any questions.
